Kindergarten at Wasatch Elementary

We are excited to welcome our youngest Wasatch Stars to kindergarten. At Wasatch Elementary, children are known, supported, and challenged every day in a caring school community where they build strong minds, strong voices, and a true sense of belonging.
Kindergarten is an important first step in a child’s school journey. Our teachers help students grow socially, emotionally, and academically through joyful classroom routines, early literacy and math learning, play, creativity, collaboration, and rich opportunities to explore the world around them.
Kindergarten Schedule
We currently have two full-day kindergarten classrooms.
Monday–Thursday: 8:40 AM–3:15 PM
Friday: 8:40 AM–2:15 PM
The first day of school for the 2026–2027 school year is Tuesday, August 18, 2026. The last day of school is Wednesday, May 26, 2027.
How to Register
Families who live within Wasatch Elementary boundaries may register through Salt Lake City School District’s online registration system.
Families who live outside Wasatch boundaries may apply through the district’s open enrollment process. Open enrollment approval is based on available space and district guidelines.
After completing the online process, families will need to bring required documents to the school office.
Required Documents
Please bring the following items to the Wasatch office to complete registration:
• Child’s birth certificate, visa, or passport
• Child’s immunization record
• Proof of address, such as a utility bill, lease, or mortgage statement
Kindergarten Orientation
Each spring, Wasatch hosts a Kindergarten Orientation for incoming students and families. Families have the opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, learn more about the school, connect with PTA and SCC, and begin feeling at home in the Wasatch community.
