Art at Wasatch Elementary

Visual art is an important part of the Wasatch experience. Through art, students learn to create, reflect, revise, and share their thinking in meaningful ways. Art gives children opportunities to express ideas, build confidence, notice details, solve problems, and see themselves as creative learners.

Our art teacher, Laura Rowley, works with students throughout the year on a variety of engaging projects that support creativity, craftsmanship, imagination, and reflection. Students explore different materials, techniques, and artistic processes while developing their own voices as young artists.

At Wasatch, we believe the process of creating is just as important as the final product. Students are encouraged to try new ideas, learn from mistakes, refine their work, and celebrate the unique perspectives of others. Visual art also connects naturally to classroom learning, helping students deepen their understanding across subjects.

Student artwork is shared and celebrated through classroom displays, schoolwide exhibits, family events, and the Wasatch Arts Showcase. These opportunities help students take pride in their work and allow families to see the creativity and growth happening across our school.

The arts are one of the defining strengths of Wasatch Elementary. We are proud to provide students with rich opportunities to create, perform, reflect, and belong.
