Welcome Mr. Zani & Mr. Beach!

New Principal: Mr. Zani
Hello Wasatch Community,
My name is Tony Zani, and I’m incredibly honored to serve as the new principal of Wasatch Elementary. With more than 25 years of experience in education—as an elementary school teacher, literacy coach, and assistant principal—I’ve had the joy of working alongside passionate educators and families to help students grow and thrive in supportive and inspiring school communities.
Most recently, I was the assistant principal at Rose Park Elementary, where I focused on building strong relationships, supporting teacher development, and creating inclusive, engaging learning environments. I also serve as President of the Utah National Board-Certified Teachers Coalition. In this role, I work with teachers to elevate leadership and support them as they pursue National Board Certification.
What drew me to Wasatch Elementary is the school’s deep commitment to academic excellence, student voice, and community connection—along with its rich tradition of excellence in the arts. As someone who believes in the power of creativity to inspire confidence, joy, and learning, I am thrilled to be part of a school where the arts are truly celebrated.
Outside of school, I love reading, the arts, hiking Utah’s beautiful landscapes, and spending time with the people I love (and sometimes nerding out about education over coffee). I can't wait to get to know each of you and to build on the incredible legacy of Wasatch together.
Here’s to an amazing journey ahead!
Warmly,
Tony Zani
New Assistant Principal: Mr. Beach
Mr. Jason Beach is excited to join Wasatch and Ensign Elementary as Assistant Principal.
He brings over 25 years of experience in education—as a teacher, instructional coach, principal, school board member, and mentor.
Mr. Beach holds a bachelor’s in Elementary Education and two master’s degrees in Educational Leadership and Elementary Education. He’s passionate about building positive school cultures where students and staff feel supported and empowered.
His leadership is rooted in strong relationships, servant leadership, and partnering with families to support every child’s growth. He believes all students deserve to feel safe, find joy, and stay engaged in learning.
Originally from Arizona, Mr. Beach recently moved to Utah with his family. He enjoys early morning runs with his wife, staying in touch with his adult children, reading, writing, and making homemade pizza, salsa, and popcorn. A classroom favorite: reading aloud with dramatic flair.
Mr. Beach is honored to be part of the Wasatch and Ensign communities and looks forward to a great year ahead!
