About Me

I’m thrilled to be a part of Wasatch Elementary’s fourth grade team! I’ve taught in Salt Lake City School District for the past 8 years, all in fourth grade. Wasatch is my neighborhood school and I’m excited to get to know my local community better.

I absolutely love learning and teaching. I have a law degree and master of education degree from the University of Utah. I come from a family of teachers. My significant other is a teacher in this district and two of my sisters are teachers in Utah as well.

Fourth grade is the best! I’m fond of this grade because I love introducing kids to reading more complex chapter books from authors like Roald Dahl, J.K. Rowling, Kate DiCamillo and R.J. Palacio. I want kids to develop a life long pleasure reading habit and that starts with an appreciation for just how much fun reading can be. I love teaching kids how their brains work and the wonderful science curriculum of Utah. I believe in showing kids the importance of math and how integral it is to every part of our life. Finally, I’m passionate about teaching kids proper writing skills so they can form persuasive arguments and opinions.

When I’m not teaching, I’m a die hard skier at Alta and Snowbird. I also love to golf – even if I’m not particularly good at it. If you ever see me out and about in the neighborhood, please stop me and say hi!
